Selected Moments – A Personal Journey
This series is a selection of photographs I’ve taken over the past few years. Ever since I got my first camera in 2019, I’ve made it a habit to carry it everywhere, allowing me to document my life continuously—from China to Canada, from now into the future. These images represent just a small part of my work and a glimpse of how I share myself to the world.
Portrait Series - Chinatown@Ottawa 2024/06/14
This collection captures my friend Wenqun, a YouTube influencer, on a bright summer day in Ottawa Chinatown. The strong natural light allowed for striking contrasts, creating a dramatic effect, while softer shaded areas brought a gentle, natural glow to the face. Shot with the Ricoh GR III, these images explore the balance between light and shadow, enhancing the depth and emotion within each frame.
Portrait Series - Andrew Haydon Park@Ottawa 2024/07/09
This series features my fellow IMD classmates at Andrew Haydon Park. The day was lightly cloudy, with sunlight filtering through the clouds, creating bright yet soft lighting—ideal for outdoor portrait photography. The gentle natural light is reflected in the softness of the facial tones throughout the images. In some shots, flash was used to balance exposure and prevent subjects from appearing too dark against the sky. Captured with the Sony A7C2 and a 40mm f/2.5 lens.
Portrait Series - Britannia Beach@ottawa 2024/09/15
This collection showcases a local group of Hanfu enthusiasts during the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival celebration. As the event’s photographer, I captured the elegance and cultural richness of the performers dressed in traditional attire. Each image highlights the intricate details of Hanfu, the graceful movement of the participants, and the festive spirit of the occasion.Captured with the Sony A7C2 and a 50mm f/1.8 lens.
