Fake Plastic Tree - Covered by Insomiac Sparrows
Insomiac Sparrows is a passionate rock band based in Ottawa, Canada, formed by four talented Chinese musicians and vocalists who share a deep love for music. My close friend is the guitarist of the band, and from February to April 2025, I had the opportunity to design a website for them and document their rehearsals.
This video captures the band's rehearsal and interpretation of Fake Plastic Tree, showcasing their dedication to refining their craft. Every aspect of production—lighting design, audio recording, filming, editing, and mixing—was handled solely by me, ensuring a cohesive and immersive visual and auditory experience. The post-production process was completed using Adobe Premiere Pro.
Telecom Scam Prevention Video for Chinese Students in Canada
In February 2025, at the invitation of the Canadian Federation of Chinese Students from uOttawa, I produced an anti–telecom-fraud awareness video for the 2025 Online Chinese New Year Gala. By using Suno AI, I create a promotional song named Don't fall for it, that highlights common scams targeting Chinese students in recent years—such as fake package alerts, bogus investigation notices, low-cost currency-exchange offers, and online romance fraud—and incorporate them into the video. My friend Wenqun acted in the video. The post-production processed by using Adobe Premiere Pro.
